temperature and humidity
ambient temperature
Range -20°C to +60°C · precision ±0.3°C · battery 5-10 years · LoRaWAN class A. For commercial refrigerators, warehouses, offices, technical rooms. The most used magnitude in the catalog.
submersible / insertion temperature
External submersible or insertion probe · range -50°C to +120°C · precision ±0.3°C · liquid-resistant + sanitary cable. For milk tanks, vaccine glycol, fermenters, thermal baths, hot-hold.
industrial high-temperature
High-T PT100 probe · range +50°C to +500°C · refractory + heat-resistant cable. For agave cooking ovens (tequila/mezcal), biosecurity autoclaves, tortillería comales, smokehouses, coffee roasters, steam boilers.
ultra-cold temperature
Probe calibrated for -25°C to -80°C · electrical backup (UPS + generator) recommended. For ice-cream ripening tunnels, lab ultracold freezers + research labs, blood bank redundancy. Direct-import lead time 4-8 weeks — we flag this upfront in the quote.
relative humidity
Range 0-100% RH · precision ±3% RH · combined with T for dew points. For conservation rooms (museums · barrel cellars), coffee drying patios, poultry barns, greenhouses, grain silos (aflatoxins).
air quality and gas detection
multi-parameter air quality (T+RH+CO₂+VOC)
Four magnitudes in a single device. CO₂ range 400-5000 ppm · precision ±50 ppm + 3% reading. For classrooms, offices, conference rooms, industrial bays, operator zones. Base for STPS NOM-011 + post-COVID IAQ.
advanced air quality (9-in-1)
Nine magnitudes: T+RH+CO₂+VOC+HCHO+O₃+PM2.5+PM10+LUX. For mezcal palenques (CO + PM smoke), charcuterie smokehouses (HCHO + PM), funeral homes (embalming HCHO), Tier-1 museums (urban PM + indirect UV), research labs. Direct-import lead time 4-8 weeks — we flag this upfront in the quote.
combustible gas (LP + natural)
Leak detector + alarm with automatic ventilation + optional access blocking. Range 0-100% LEL · precision ±5%. For industrial kitchens, tortillerías, steam boilers, gas stations, LP-fed mezcal palenques.
specialized toxic gases (NH₃, CO, H₂S, Cl₂)
High-selectivity single-gas sensors. For poultry/pig (NH₃ excreta), pools and spas (free Cl₂), gas stations (CO + H₂S), chemistry labs. Combinable with the advanced air-quality sensor when multi-parameter is required.
current, voltage, and consumption
three-phase electrical sub-metering (12 channels)
Main-panel meter with 12 current channels + 3 voltages · billing-grade IEC 62053-21/23 · split-core current transformers (100A/300A/500A/1000A + Rogowski 4000A). Continuous power factor + per-area/line/tenant sub-metering. In process of NOM/IFT homologation Mexico.

Single CT clamp for motors, compressors, generators, pumps. Current signature analysis for predictive maintenance (detects degradation 2-4 weeks before failure). Stand-by generator validation + remote compressor diagnosis.

Radar / ultrasonic for tanks, grain silos, cisterns, waste containers. Range 0.1m to 30m · IP67 outdoor. Inventory reconciliation without climbing. LiDAR variants for vapors or tanks with steam.
pressure and flow
IP67 outdoor pressure meter (battery + cabled variants) for water distribution networks, pressurized tanks, boilers. In-line flow meter for utilities, hydroponics, batching plants. Differential pressure available (HEPA filters, IVF, ΔP).
water quality (pH · DO · ORP · EC · turbidity)
Complete water-quality system with LoRaWAN converter + professional submersible probes (pH 0-14, DO 0-20 mg/L, ORP -2000 to +2000 mV, EC 0-200 mS/cm, turbidity 0-1000 NTU). For aquaculture, pools, spas, coffee fermentation, treatment plants, water utilities.
presence, counting, doors, sound
presence + people counting
PIR + ToF (Time of Flight) sensors + per-zone people counters. Anti-party in STR/Airbnb (privacy without image), museum visitor counting, office occupancy, smart restroom signaling, nighttime perimeter. No cameras, no audio — privacy respected.
door opening + chain-of-custody
Magnetic reed sensor with immutable timestamp. For walk-in coolers, warehouse access, archives, server rooms, chain-of-custody transitions (CRT tequila + CRM mezcal + funeral homes + research labs). Audit-grade log.
sound level (dB)
Continuous acoustic pressure sensor. For STPS NOM-011 work zones (industrial kitchens, plants), boutique hotels anti-party guest silence, event perimeter. Per-shift reports + peak + average.
tilt, vibration, GPS, light
structural tilt
3-axis inclinometer for post-seismic structural monitoring (CDMX post-2017 mandate), construction cranes, telecom towers, data-center server racks. FDA-grade version available for hospitals/pharma with traceable calibration.
vibration (FFT for predictive)
3-axis accelerometer with FFT analysis for predictive maintenance of motors, pumps, industrial fans, ice-cream ultra-cold compressors. Detects bearing degradation 2-4 weeks before failure.
GPS · asset tracking · geofencing
LoRaWAN tracker with GPS + geofence + optional internal temperature. For refrigerated fleets (DICONSA/LICONSA, cold-chain 3PL), anti-cattle-theft (feedlots + dairy ranches), mobile equipment (forklifts, hotel carts), CRT/CRM denomination-of-origin transit.

We don't ask you to pick brands or compare datasheets. We curate a catalog of ~45 hardware families and choose the right sensor for each recipe — by capability, battery, codec, and availability in Mexico. You don't quote standalone sensors or chase SKUs: you tell us what you need to measure and we decide what with. The reason is operational: a single network, consistent codecs, unified support, consolidated procurement.

A standalone sensor is not a service. AstreaIoT packages {sensor + threshold + alert + report + escalation} in what we call a "recipe". Each recipe serves one or more clusters. Here's the mapping logic:

how we choose a sensor for your operation.
physical capability
Range + precision + sampling frequency + environmental conditions (IP67 outdoor, ATEX explosion-proof, food-grade sanitary). First filter: does the sensor measure what you need at the precision the recipe requires?
battery + LoRaWAN class
Battery life 3-10 years per use · class A (sensor reads + reports + sleeps) for ambient sensors · class C (always listening) for safety sensors. Autonomy determines 5-year maintenance cost.
availability in Mexico
Preference for hardware with local stock in Mexico (1-2 wk lead time · CFDI invoice). If it's not stocked locally, we evaluate direct-import (4-8 wk) or an alternative variant. If it's going to take time, we say so in the quote.
ChirpStack codec
The sensor must have a verified or developable codec for ChirpStack v4 (our network). Without codec, the sensor doesn't talk to the platform. We are developing a Modbus codec library for legacy sensors + industrial Modbus equipment.
Mexico homologation
All LoRaWAN US915 hardware must meet IFT homologation before deployment. The three-phase electrical sub-metering meter is currently in NOM/IFT homologation process — clients requiring sub-metering receive timing caveat upfront in quote.

We prefer hardware where we have a direct relationship with the manufacturer. Consolidated procurement for multi-property clients reduces cost + simplifies spare parts. One-off hardware we accept but with an operational caveat.
